Athlete first. Mother next. Coach because of both.
"I wanted to help other women and other people in general either start their journey or reconnect with ourselves and build the new body that they have rather than trying to get their old body back."
Mya Hollis
The track years
I grew up an athlete. Junior Olympics, high school track and field, then a full ride scholarship and a collegiate career ranked top 10 in the United States. When athletics ended, the training did not. I kept working out as a hobby, then started coaching at my former high school and found out how much I loved pushing people forward.
That led me to personal training, and in the middle of it all, I became a mother.
What motherhood taught me
Becoming a mom showed me how much it takes to reconnect to your body and wake your muscles back up. Even with everything I knew as an athlete, it could not be rushed. That experience is the reason Postpartum Pink Fitness exists.
I think of coaching as a craft. No two bodies are proportioned the same, no two women have the same comfort or strength levels, so no two plans should look the same. I listen, I adjust, and I shape the work to the person in front of me, the way you would make something distinctly your own.
